Wow - your own room already? You are all set!! Can't wait to see pictures of your first quilt :)

I'm so jealous - no class or room for me yet!

Welcome. You're going to have a great journey as a quilter. I have been at it for 20 years and have met the most amazing, generous, creative people.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! I have already discovered that quilters are a friendly nuturing group who are eager to help out a beginner. In fact, I learned this on my first outing to buy fabric! This site is incredibly informative and I'm spending more and more time here. I'll have to be careful or I'll spend more time talking/reading about quilting than actually quilting. :)

I was like you, waiting for the girls to leave the nest, I have 3. Added on to the kitchen, was not big enough since two of them are married now with children, and with that we also decided to dig a full basement, took that over as my sewing room. Love it. Have fun and enjoy.

Welcome from Montana. My youngest will be leaving for college in August. She is going all the way to Ohio so she won't be home too often. I'd better take a second look at her bedroom! Actually, I am lucky. I have a fair sized room in the basement. I will only have to look at her room if I get a longarm - but I am still dreaming about that.
