    Red face New from Arizona

    Hello all!

My name is Megan, and I'm a newbie from Arizona!

I am self-teaching, and do everything by hand, as I don't even own a sewing machine. It makes for a lot of hard work, long hours, and sore fingers, but in the end it's an awesome sense of accomplishment for any project!

I make everything from Belly Dance tops to costume tails to throw pillows; to my upcoming project - my first attempt at a quilt! I've tossed around the idea of trying it for a while, so I found some fabric I like, and I'm jumping in with both feet, so to speak!

Wish me luck! I'll probably be lurking around, asking a few questions. So don't mind me; I'm just the chick in the corner taking notes.

Thank you! Glad to see I'm not nuts for thinking about quilts in 90-degree weather!

A big welcome from the SHO-ME state - Missouri. My ex-daughter-in-law's mother said that a quilt was not a true quilt unless it was cut by hand, sewn by hand and quilted by hand - so she would have LOVED you!

Hi and welcome from another hot spot - southern California. I can't even imagine hand stitching an entire quilt! You go, girl!

Thanks for all the welcome's! The piecing together won't be too bad, it's the actual quilting part that worries me! I don't think I'll be able to do all the fancy stitching designs you guys all do, but I'll try my best to make something presentable!

    Welcome from Minnesota!
(Doing everything by hand is a lot of work! Go buy yourself a nice sewing machine! You can still do your hand work, but you'll get so much more accomplished with a machine!! Have fun!)

I am planning on buying a machine eventually, at least for the quilting part! I can piece them together by hand and quilt with the machine. I have a lot of other projects that I do that the hand sewing isn't really fun, but just plain tedious!
