After coming to the stage of 'empty nest' in my life, I felt I needed something to get me out of my rut. The little town I moved to has a quilting class, and I decided to join for both the educational and social values. I am now working on my first quilt which is made with recycled jeans squares with bandana pattern material sashing and cornerstones. I have learned a lot already, and am enjoying my new venture . Welcome! I wanted to quilt in the 80's but kids kept my sewing tasks to bibs, Halloween costumes, etc.. Once the last child left for college in the early 2000's I used my machine for pieceing and quilting. I haven't looked back! This is a great, informative, and inspirational forum!!! I'm glad you found it.
