Hi Jan, I haven't achieved it all yet. I think I have made 7 or 9 tops (for me that's the easy part) and am just now quilting. I'd have finished this one quilt, except now that I'm half way through it, my thread has started shredding. Yes, I have changed the needle at least 10 times so far. It's weird. This has set me back a good week. !@#$$%%^^&**(!!!

Shredding thread reminds me of the problems we had with Gutterman thread a decade or so ago. It was made in Mexico at that time and caused all kinds of problems to sewers. The company finally got smart enough to change the production. Yes, 100% cotton thread will dry rot, but if cared for properly-- kept away from sun/light/dust should last quite a looong time.
The wind of the thread on the spool may have something to do with problems at the needle, too, but I can't find the article I need to tell you about it.
