New board from Wisconsin.

Hi everyone. This is my first post to this board. I just found it last night and love seeing the pictures of the quilts you have all created. I've been quilting , in ernest, for 15 years. The first quilt I made was back in 1970 when I knew nothing of quilting, made my own pattern (all squares) and cut it out with scissors. I used silk and cotton for the baby quilt. All the washings made the silk disintegrate. I know so much more now and learn each time I make a quilt.
The quilt I made 15 years ago was from a free pattern I got in the mail. I hand quilted it next to the seams of every piece. The batting was high loft. I still have finger tips but they sure were sore when I finished that quilt.
I love every bit of the process from cutting to quilting (mostly by home machine.) It is my therapy, my way to relax.
