New to the boards

Hi, I'm Melanie. I've been quilting since I got my sewing machine for Christmas last year. I only do machine quilting as I don't have the patience or skill for hand quilting, and I'm fine with that...
The largest quilt I've made is a quilt for my daughter's twin bed for her 4th birthday in July last year. I'm working on one for my oldest son's 8th birthday coming up in March right now. I designed it, although it's based on some I found on the internet (when I was teaching we used to joke about there being no novel ideas, so I'm okay with using someone else's brain storm). He's a big fan of the Legend of Zelda games, so it's Link holding a triforce. I also just pieced the top of a long wall hanging that is inspired by the games as well (it is my own design).
Oh, and personally, let's see, I have three kids with a fourth on the way, due in early June. My husband and our family live in western, PA just outside of Pittsburgh....it's cold and I really need to make more quilts to keep us warm. And, we have a dog that likes to stay near me at all times when I'm home, which can be a bit of a challenge for a rapidly growing pregnant woman hopping between an ironing board and sewing machine table!!

Hi! I am Diane from Iowa. I am a wife of almost 28 years, a mother of 3 married kids, a Grandma of a 1 year old girl and one on the way. Love being a grandma.
I have been reading the board for over a month now and love seeing all your projects. I am new to quilting, I just finished 5 quilts that I started 20 years ago for my kids and nieces. I am a crafty person and love to make things. I do knitting, embroidering, crocheting and anything else that catches my fancy. I just enjoy doing making things.
But do to some health issues I am getting into quilting more. I want to do it all and learn it all. I love making things for my family and you all have given me so many ideas with all of you great quilts. I all ready told my DH that I want a sewing room, so I can start quilting and not have to drag what little I have out of a box each time I want to do something.
I look forward to learning so much from you all!!
Thanks for all the great pics!!
