I am very much interested in learning the art of quilting. I can knit. I have an idea for a quilt that I owuld love to make. I would love to make a photo quilt for my roommate. Using all sizes of photoes put onto fabric. and sewn together. I want to make it classy looking with photos that I will make black and white. But where do I start?

welcome from se TX -- use search on this site as there was a posting and replies about using photos in quilts -- sounds like a neat idea for a quilt, very personal-- I haven't been brave enough to use the photo-to-cloth kit I bought some time ago, but it is supposed to be easy --

Hi, and Welcome from central California! Ami Simms has two marvelous books on photo quilts: Picture Play Quilts, and Creating Scrapbook Quilts. Directions are clear, and it's great fun to do your own thing! Of course, there are many other ideas out there, but this was the first that came to mind. This board is a tremendous resource, full of wonderful people. You'll love your new home here!
