I've made several Attic Windows - it's a very visually pleasing quilt.
The pictures of the first 2 that you show are a much easier way than mine. If I do anymore will follow those.

I just tried writing instructions using your 6" window and they got so complicated that even I couldn't understand them

Check one of the pattern sites, for instance: http://www.quilterscache.com and you'll find instructions

Welcome from Ohio....if you look at the other attic windows they are the same as the one you want except the one you want is done on point....turn your paper where you will see the rows done straight...that should help....there is a half block that makes for the shawdow hope you figure it out...keep studing the picture and you'll get it ....good luck
