Look for a tutorial on here of how to sandwich and quilt it, and don't wait. You can do it!

Welcome from Oklahoma! Just dive into this board and do some searching for some of the things you are wanting to learn. Also get you a good book on Quilting. Worth their weight in gold. Be prepared to get addicted to this board! Just ask away, someone will give you all the answers you need! Besides, it's not nearly as hard as it looks, once you start understanding the process.

Hello Jamie!
Welcome from Minnesota!
Sounds like a case of "fear of the unknown"! Start with a simple project and if you have questions, ask? You'll get lots of responses and ideas on this board! Lots of luck to you! You'll gain confidence as you go! :)

Welcome from Florida! Try your local library to see if they have a current beginning quilting book - techniques have changed and it is easier now. Cut a placemat, sandwich it, baste it, quilt it, square it up and put the binding on - then you will understand the process and it won't be so intimidating. Unless your kids are teenagers they won't know that it isn't "perfect" (if for any reason it isn't exactly what you expected).
