Archangel went out of business a couple of years ago. I was there on their last day buying fabric at $1/yard. My favorite LQS is Etc Crafts in Cary. The lady who owns the shop has had the store for 30 or so years. She's mid-to-late 80's and isn't in the shop as much anymore.

My favorite NC quilt shop is Whistle Stop in Selma (not far from I-95). Not exactly around the corner from you, but have you ever been there?

Don't know about Kathy but I go to Whistle Stop a couple of times a month. It's about a 10 minute drive from me. Love that place. We also have a great shop in Fayetteville called Loving Stitches and there is one up closer to you Kathy in Apex called Plain and Simple Quilts. Loving Stitches especially is a very warm and friendly place. It doesn't have the normal quilt shop "nose in the air" kind of feeling. lol
