Hi Rita, I am also from the Oregon coast. Tillamook. Which part of the coast are you from? When I started quilting almost 17 years ago I walked into a fabric store and picked several fabrics I liked and a book. I went home and just followed the instructions. When I had problems I called that store and they walked me through my problems. I've been sewing ever since. Only now I have taken over the family room and moved the family to the front of the house.Brenda

I just came across this site today and found it very interesting. I live in Tillamook and have been quilting...topping for about 17 years. Boy time flies. I am a fan of scrap quilts and follow Bonnie Hunter at quiltville.com and have all of her books. I am going to attend a couple of classes when she comes to Oregon in September. I was a matchy matchy type color chooser up until about 4 years ago. Now my fabric is moving out and I am getting to a place where I can begin to go shopping for more. Yeah. I look forward to the conversations here. Brenda
