Pretending to be a quilter
#22
Welcome from New York! This is a terrific group! I'm new to it as well. What great news about your son's weight loss! Here's an idea -- although a weird one. Make curtains! The belt loops are terrific for running a rod through.

Greetings Pat, from Saskatchewan Canada !!! Sounds like you've been very busy in the blue jeam relocation program. My Aunt is big into blue jean revamps. She makes square potholders and puts a denim pocket on the back for you to slip your hand into to use the pot holder. They are too cute! Welcome !!!!!!!!!!

Greeting you from Indianapolis
I have a huge pile of jeans, too. I quilted some but have since been making jeans skirts and butt bags. Those big jeans make wonderful butt bags. Cut the legs several inches below the crotch. Then cut out the leg seam. Then fold them sideways. Then sew from the zipper to the butt and you have a huge butt bag. Much more room that way. You can sew on handles or use the belt loops and thread a couple ties to make a bag. You can make some pretty cool aprons by cutting them off any length, cut the fronts off, then sew the crotch legs down the middle or lap them. Then add on some ties. Fun to decorate. You can make a skirt - snip off below the pockets, piece some denim together and attach to the top. you can google search refashioned jeans and come up with a ton of ideas.
