Hi, I am Ken from Southern California, thought I should introduce myself after reading posts for the last month. I make quilts for charities, along with repairing and restoring old sewing machines. Singer 221 featherweights are my favorites, I restore and refurbish both machines and cases. My wife taught me to quilt about seven years ago, now I do the quilting and she does the bindings (I cannot sew by hand). We make our own tops and backs, I quilt them on a short arm quilter. Two of the charities I make quilts for are My Stuff Bag Foundation and Loma Linda Hospital.

Welcome from upstate New York.
I love vintage Singers and have been trying to get a featherweight ever since I saw one a couple of months ago. I will some day. I have a Model 66 and a 201-2 that I am trying to learn more information about. I tried joining the needlebar as was recommended by Billy on this site, but they aren't accepting new members. Again, welcome to the board, you'll love it here! :) :) |

Welcome from central Illinois. More and more men seem to be making themselves known. My brothers also know how to quilt, they just don't do it anymore. Momma taught us to quilt, grandma taught us to crochet--yes, even the boys.
I hope you enjoy this board and find it as helpful as I have. It's rather like having a new family except in this one, everyone is easy to get along with. LOL |

Say I have two old mach's I picked up a yard sales. Have any advice on if they are worth putting any $$$ into. The one in the cary box doesn't have a name just Made in Japan on the front madalion. The other has all you see in the pic the # on the front of the booklet says it's a 99-13 Singer with the cabinet. They both look somewhat alike.
