Okay, so I've been lurking around for years, and have become addicted.. Congratulations guys!!! I've been to lazy to introduce myself.. I'm Socrates (17 lb. 6 yo cockapoo with a Napoleon complex) mom. We live in Woodmere L.I... Ten minutes from JFK ..
Since lurking on this board, I've become aware that there are people on L I that quilt..
I've been at it for at least 20 years, with a talent, and accuracy of a C-, but am having a blast doing it.. Have learned more from this board.. than anywhere else.. Some of the talent is amazing..
People out of the quilting world would think I have OCD, or am a hoarder, as I am up to four machines.. My favorite is a Singer 99k from 1926..
I guess that's about it.. Hope to continue lurking..

Went to NYC several summers ago and my roommate wanted to hit the only quilt store we could find in the city before I got to get on the Staten Island Ferry. The quilt shop was lovely--hope it is still there--and I loved everything about NYC. Welcome from N Texas froggyintexas

No, you are not a hoarder. I have 17 machines, 3 of which are Featherweights. In my defense, I used to teach a quilt class to confirmands at our church. Each made a "quilt for comfort" to give to anyone who needed comforting. Welcome to the group! It's a lovely bunch!
