Beginner from Arkansas
Hello to everyone. I am having a great time here looking around and learning a lot. I was first exposed to quilting by my mother who used to make practical quilts from cottonseed meal sacks. I never thought I would have the time, but now I am learning to machine quilt. I am using an old Kenmore machine I have had since highschool. Wish me luck!

Welcome from Iowa! Best of luck in your quilting endeavors! I, too, am just starting to learn the fine art of quilting. I made one for my daughter (a celtic knot). Now, I'm making a "Memory" quilt for a fundraiser, then want to make a Butterfly quilt for my other daughter. This is going to be a year of quilting! :)

I am also new to the site. I live in central Arkansas as well. I have been sewing since birth! My grandmother was a Home Ec teacher, so I didn't have a choice. I got out of it for many years (ex didn't want me to waste my time). Now I'm back at it, learning to machine quilt. I am enjoying it and my new husband thinks it is great that I quilt!

Welcome to the board from Southern California!

Thanks to everyone for all the warm welcomes! It is great to connect with quilters from all over the country. I see there are some local folks here as well. I have been busy with life, but getting back to my quilting. I am loving the quilting board and often check out articles etc, but am just now really learning to use it for the great resource that it is. Wow. Great company here. I am working on getting up some pics of my quilts for my first album in my profile.
