welcome from South Carolina! I wish we had a quilt shop that offered quilt classes, but we don't. We do have a Hancock Fabrics that has them ~ I haven't taken one yet. If you have never sewn.. I would recommend practicing straight stitches, cut long strips x 2 and keep sewing rows and rows. And as the other gals have said, watch you tube, get a cutting mat and rotary cutter, and flat head pins. You can probably do a internet search for free easy beginner quilt patterns.

good luck & welcome :) the only quilt I've made was actually a little wall hanging that I didn't bind. I put it in a frame

Hello from KY. You can find so much help on the internet, amazing videos, and any questions you have, there will be someone here to give you the answer. But start small, it is easy to get discouaged if things arent'going right, so just be patient. If you start feeling uptight, walk away for awhile. Let it be fun for you, not work!
