Hi there. What part of Scotland are you from? I was born in Glasgow and grew up in Inverness. Still have relatives in both places. I have many quilting friends on-line from USA but it is nice to meet someone with quilting and Scottish interest.

Great to meet you all. If there is any real newbies on the quilting scene who would welcome some one to one help getting started I would be very happy to share what I have learned in the past 14 years.

Welcome or as they say here Bienvenido. they have all gone mad here there are horns peeping and fireworks going off I guess they got through and beat Germany at Football LOL

Butterflyspain 07-07-2010 01:57 PM

By the way a fat quarter is a piece of fabric 18" x 22" big.

Welcome to the board from Southern California!!!

murieluk 07-07-2010 10:11 PM

Thanks for the welcome. Indeed Spain won the football and it looks like an exciting final ahead with the Netherlands and Spain. As you can see quilting isn't my only interest.

Butterflyspain 07-07-2010 10:14 PM

Muriel, I didn´t watch the football, I could hear my neighbours shouting and someone has managed to find a Vavoosa (sp?) for one of their kids: I felt like strangling him. The cars went round and round the village peeping their horns very loudly and shouting Viva España LOL

Of course you do. We claim everyone with any Scottish blood in them. I have been living in England over 5 decades but I still claim to be Scottish

rummage 07-08-2010 03:34 AM

Hello Murieluk and Calder,
Welcome, I hope you enjoy yourself here as much as I do. I'm in (not so sunny) Scotland.
