Hi! My first post got deleted. I'm guessing it's either because I included a link or because I attached JPGs, so I'll do neither this time. I really am an honest-to-goodness quilter wannabe. :D As soon as I finish the stained glass mosaic I'm working on (pictured in my avatar), I'm going to start on my first quilt.

Now I'm going to go look at pictures of everyone's work so I can dream of the day when I'll have my own.

welcome from southeast Texas, the BOM's are a good way to start, it's only 1 block a month and they are just for you and you get to learn multiple techniques

Welcome from Iowa.

JenelTX 01-06-2011 06:38 AM

Thank you, Anne! My brother lives in Germany. I have been there several times. A beautiful country. I have fond memories of sparglefest. (I might be spelling that wrong.) Asparagus at every meal!

I'm very intrigued by the BOMs. Thanks for the suggestion! I think that would be a fun way to practice.

Hi, and welcome to the board, from another Central Texas gal.

JenelTX 01-06-2011 06:49 AM

I can't allow myself to do any quilting until after I finish my mosaic. I've tied up both of our guest rooms with my glass-cutting stuff, plus the guest bath has my wet saw in it. Good thing people don't come to visit us very often!

JenelTX 01-06-2011 06:49 AM

Thank you, ShowMama! That cat in your pic is hysterical.

(For some reason, I thought your name said "Sharon.")

Thank you! It's good to be here. I'm having so much fun looking at the BOM pictures that it's going to be tough to stop. But I really do have to start working!

Helen, the beach bag you made for your mother is wonderful! She'll be the most stylish woman on her cruise!

LOL! I'm looking forward to having some work to show. Right now, I'm at the stage of just reading The Complete Guide to Quilting by Fons and Porter. I'm learning so much just from reading the book! Once I've finished the book and my current mosaic project, I'm going to jump right in to quilting.
