I used to piece quilts years ago. Simple quilts, I mean. Anyway I have been wanting to piece some quilts again and recently saw a pattern that was small blocks that looked like they were spiraling. Each color were in 8 different shades, but I do not know how many colors were used for sure. I remarked to the owner of the pattern, that it looked difficult and she said "no, not at all, it is done in strips. Well, now I really want the pattern, didn't get the information from the lady and I'm at a total loss for finding it. Does this pattern sound familier to anyone? Please help. Thanks!

Sounds to me like the lovely Bargello pattern. These are beautiful. Check them out on this site, there are lots of pictures of them here.

Thanks for replying. No, if you can imagine the small squares in the Trip Around the World quilt. Then each color has 8 different shades and they all descend and make a spiral looking affect, but it is on this big quilt. It was beautiful and I am kicking myself for losing the paper I had the info on!!!
