Years ago, while in the process of moving from Grants, NM to Redstone, CO, we stopped at a little restaurant on the main drag, just before you turn right to head north. I had the ultimate very best Chili Rellenos there that I ever had. Sometimes I dream of those Rellenos.
Good grief, I almost forgot to welcome you to the board. You will love it here. Lots of help, pics and converstion.

Hi there, I'm new here and from Dolores. I get to look at the beautiful La Platas from the other side! We spend our winters in Arizona, but I count the weeks until I can return to my home (and fabric stash and longarm) in Colorado.

Have you been to the new quilt shop in Cortez?

newbee 10-30-2011 07:02 AM

I love Durango and its quilt store...welcome from the other side of the mountains!

Welcome! Loved the entertainment at the Straiter Hotel: "Who's on first?" Great trip on the Million Dollar Highway to Silverton. Fantastic steak and beans somewhere.

Welcome from near Atlanta, GA! I was in Durango (and Silverton and Ouray) a couple of summers ago and you're right.... breathtaking is the word! There was snow left on some of the hills and we got to go play in it....two Southern girls who think that 4" is a huge amount of snow!!!! (We were up to our waists, wet and having the time of our lives!)

Hello,
I grew up in Hesperus Colorado and every morning I loved looking at the LaPlata mountains out our back door. They are beautiful and just returned from visiting home yesterday. Some day when my husband & I retire I would love to return and have a home there again. Where about do you live? I visit there frequently and go to Aztec and Farmington and visit as much quilting shops as I can. I do have to say that the Patchwork Pig is my favorite. Sure would be nice to have a shopping partner some day down in your vicinity as I do believe I drove my poor sister crazy driving me from shop to shop. Well enjoy the LaPlata mountains as I sure do miss them!
Take care
Prarie Dancer
