Welcome from MA. I had never heard of an envelope quilt before, but yours is really beautiful. Since the envelopes are not functional, quilting below the envelope flap would be a great idea and you could see the quilt stitches. I love hearts myself, and I see the envelopes as Valentine's Day quilts; so they would be appropriate.

Hi Judi..welcome from Southern Ontario. Glad you found us. Your quilt is so pretty, so feminine looking. Your daughter will love it, I certainly would.

I already have plans on making the next one red and white for valentines day. I have been collecting red and white material for a couple years. And I do love the idea for the hearts.

Thank you, I used machine embroidery to put special saying on the plain material at the top and bottom of the rows. When my daughter seen them she teared up.

Welcome, glad to see that you can quilt even tho you have RA. I have a friend that is handicapped and makes quilts also. Another friend and I use to cut her fabric for her and then she would use one of our machines to sew. Her husband bought her a new machine for Christmas one year and old her that he would cut all her fabric for her. She uses her teeth to help her with sewing on the binding.

It' amazing what a person can do when they are determined and have help and support from family and friends. It sounds like your friends quilts are put together with much love from everyone involved. Thank you for the welcome.

Thank you, we are almost neighbors. I bet you even shop at the Denver Fabrics, one of my favorite places.

Great quilt! What about lines to look like the edges of an actual envelope on the back?

I thought about doing that with hearts in the center.

I ran over and watched the HGTV on You tube about this quilt and the second part has others they have made. The College one for a dorm door is a fantastic idea. I like the other ideas too, I'm going to make something, just not sure what yet.

Here is the link for anyone else interested:
