Welcome from Ontario, Canada. Make sure there isn't any drag on the quilt to pull the needle off center to skim the needle plate and break the thread. Also check the thread path that there isn't anything it is catching on. Make sure the thread is positioned vertical for stacked thread and horizontal for cross wound thread.

Be sure the foot is the proper height from the fabric. It should just skim the surface. If it is too high off of the material, it will break the thread. There should be an adjustment on your foot. Watson |
