Wish I lived in the USA. It costs me $3 a square foot to have anything quilted here, with just a basic all over pattern.
|

Just bought one of these - will let you know what they are like. I figured it was cheaper than sending out quilts, and I will probably take it to guild sit and sew days and hire it out to others (at a very reasonable rate!) BTW - Hi from Melbourne. Is it warm in Taree this week? |

Hello, and welcome from Michigan!

hiya from virginia...
as i have only done small projects (i.e. sampler blocks, baby blankets)i have yet to find out how much LAQ is here... however that sounds very pricey... how does the price average out to ship it to the US to get it LAQ? would it be any cheaper to do so when you factor in the shipping costs to/from |
LQSs and professional quilters in this area charge $.015 per square inch which comes to $2.16 per square foot.....not much less that what you're paying.
|
that might seem like alot...but when you think about the people here in the states that charge 2 1/2 cents a square inch---there are 144 square inches in a square foot---so that comes out to $3.60 a square foot- you are getting a good deal at $3.00
so, don't feel too bad about what you are paying- seems to be a norm all over. |
Hi and welcome from Florissant, MO.
|
Whoa! That is expensive but, on the other hand, if you are up to it, you could start your own quilting business and make lots of moolah!

Welcome. Just had a 100" x 120" quilted beautifully, all over design, $102.00 including return shipping. Thats a little over a $1.00 per sq ft. and she did a beautiful job.

I charge 1-1/2 cents a square inch...that equals 2.16 USD per square foot...so 3.00 USD is not that bad a price.
For a quilt 90x90" I charge 122.00 USD. Using the 3.00 per square foot...the charge would be 169.00..still not a bad price. |
3.50$ here....it`s being quilted now...it better be nice for the price...and that`s just repeated rows...oh canada!! LOL welcome by the way!!!
