Looks like this site will be something I enjoy. I finished my first quilt as a young girl. My mother taught herself to do most anything with any kind of needle but quilting was my favorite. I have had to move from hand piecing & quilting to machine due to arthritis. (I guess I wore my hands out) I'm frustrated with my quilt table so I hope through this site I can learn from others.

welcome from Washington :-D

Welcome from Missouri, another who worn their fingers out quilting, though my arthritis dr says no matter what I had done in the past i would have developed arthritis...just strange that it really showed up after hand quilting for a few years.
You will love this board, a lot of helpful information here. |
I just finished my granddaughter a flip flop quilt. Now I need to come up with the perfect label? Any ideas?
|
Make one more block for the label and write on the flip flpo. Then stitch it on the back of the quilt. Welcome to the group.
|
Fantastic idea!!! Thanks!!!

I wish I could say not really. Yea, full time and then some. I guess that's best since my hands hurt all the time.
|
the doctor gave me a cream to use that really helps a lot. My husband can't use it because it runs his blood pressure up. I have to run around the block a few times to have blood pressure! It's called Voltaren. It requires a prescription but it really does help ease the pain

Hi Lynne, I'm in Denham Springs. I haven't been on this board long but I've found some neat stuff here. Not working right now and can't find a daytime or weekend group so this and other MBs are my guild!

Now Mirna you do have a very good point. My husband told his mom I must have spent 300 bucks on the flip flop quilt I just finished. I think he has caught on!!
|
I will have to scan my photos. I don't have any on the computer right now. I'll take some this weekend when I give my granddaughter her flip flop quilt. I'm on the the next project.
|
Hey Charmpack. You live in a beautiful city!!
|
Hey Ellen B. I work with a lady from Denham Springs and her name is Ellen too. If you spend much time in any of the quilt shops you are subject to find some weekday partners to quilt with. I have a quilting table and Pfaff grand quilter machine I'm learning how to use. It's been interesting.

Hi! I just joined the board and I'm in the Baton Rouge area as well. I don't have a clue as to how to quilt, but I start classes in about 3 weeks and I can't wait! Hope I can figure it out! :)
