Hello, I am Carolyn, from Peoria, Illinois.
I am new to quilting, and eager to learn.
As a retired nurse, I appreciate high quality workmanship, and creativity. Has anyone used the recycled plastic bottle green batting? Thanks, Carolyn

I looked at the "green" batting at the store.
#1 it was more expensive
#2 i would not want anyone I made a quilt for to be subjected to the FUMES from the burning plastic in the case of a fire. This could be the difference between getting out of the house or not.
#3 i use only warm and natural

I haven't ever used that batting before but...welcome and hope to see you in the chatroom...it's addicting lol

I've had a quilt professionally quilted with the batting that you refer to. It came out wonderful. This was about 4 years ago, before individual consumers could buy the product. It has a great drape.

Hello and Welcome to the board :D:D:D

I am all for recycling, but certain plastics are not made to be heated and this is one of them... the issue with fumes would really worry me. Maybe if it was never put into a dryer or out in the sun? IMHO I just don't think it is a good idea...

Dream Green is very nice. Check the Dream Cotton web site for info on their products.

I think it has great qualities but many of my quilts have a good amount of light or white fabrics.. the green color "shows" through. I really wish they made it in white or off- white.
