After weeks of lurking, I'm finally here! Moved to Yorkville, about 9 months ago from Geneva, IL, just down the road. Can't believe all the talented quilters that post here! Looking forward to "meeting everyone".

Yeah team Illinois! Great to see more from this neck of the woods. We'll have to arrange a tour of shops - maybe lunch? not a crazy stalker, just love to quilt

kewlquilts 02-28-2011 01:24 PM

My folks had great friends in Arabi, LA (since passed) We spent alot of time down there and have GREAT memories. Even got to go to Mardi Gras in 1981(?). Their daughters are still there in Baton Rouge and Metairie. Been too long - need to visit.

kewlquilts 02-28-2011 01:25 PM

Woodstock? the one up north of me? I love your town!

kewlquilts 02-28-2011 01:26 PM

Jealous you have flowers breaking through. We're still in dead grass season. Hopefully can't be too far behind!

kewlquilts 02-28-2011 01:27 PM

Congrats on your impending grandmotherhood! You must be over the moon with excitement. Hope all goes well!

kewlquilts 02-28-2011 01:29 PM

Thanks for the greetings Ontario! My husband has been up there several times for business - loves it! Want to take kids up there for a taste of another country without my youngest starving because she won't eat "food from Europe." her words, not mine.

Greetings Colorado! Have you had enough winter yet? What part are you in? Have a friend in Boulder and an old family friend in CO springs, married to retired air force. Love your scenery!

Hi to you: My son lives in Yorkville, Il. I live in Lombard, Il. Just down the road from you. I agree there are a lot of quilters on line, but not so much from Illinois. I joined a quilt club in Lombard, we make simple quilts and donate them, not too much quilting going on just tops, batting, and backing, sew around, turn and tack. But some of the ladies do them at home and they are beautiful. Talk to you later... Judie from Lombard. (I sign in as Mommalady - earned it I have 12 Kids)

My mom lived in Lombard for many years, now Lisle. In the world of obstetrics, 5+ kids makes you a "grand multipara". Respect!
