I have been meaning to introduce myself for over a month now, but then I get distracted by the different messages, run out of time, and promise myself that I will do an introduction the next time. I am so happy I found you!
I am Sandy Weaver and I have been quilting for over 20 years. Two years ago, my DH and I took an early retirement, sold our home, and now we travel in our motorhome around the US. Now I am seeing our beautiful country and visiting every quilt shop or quilt show I happen to come across during our stay. My motto: Have Fabric - Will Travel! |
Welcome from Iowa. What a great and fun thing to be doing finding all the quilt shops and traveling together. Enjoy!

Welcome Sandy - what a wonderful opportunity for you and your husband to travel. Don't forget to come to the east coast and explore.

Welcome from Missouri. Enjoy your retirement! It would be wonderful to travel to all 50 States and really see our beautiful country. However; If DH and I were to travel like that we would have to find a motorhome that my quilting machine would fit into or I would be very homesick. Welcome aboard.

Thank you for the warm Welcomes! Funny how we all think a like when it comes to our quilting and fabrics. I find Space Bags are a traveling quilter's best friend. It is amazing the amount of fabric I can get into a RubberMaid tub after the air is sucked out of the bags. Of course, I did hear about the motorhome being a wee-bit overweight.
As far as confined space, it hasn't been too bad. We spend quite a bit of time outside exploring the area. A lot of campgrounds have Rec Centers and they don't mind me using a small area for sewing. I have even sat outside with my sewing machine. Which is nice as long as there is no strong breezes to blow away my blocks! |

Once I am done, I can start with Florida. We have already traveled from Texas to South Dakota to Washington State and now we are settled in Key West for the winter. That would be too many States to make up. We do keep journals through our blogs: Travel - http://2toomanycats.blogspot.com/ Quilting - http://quiltincats.blogspot.com/ 6 more blocks to quilt before March |
