I lived in Alaska for 31 years. Mostly in Anchorage. I took lots of quilt classes while there. Quilting really does help one through the long winters up there. I live in western WA now and this is quilting country here too. Enjoy your new found hobby...your going to love it I know! |

A big welcome from Orlando, Florida. My DH and I spent 16 days in Alaska on one of the most beautiful trips we ever made. We did everything but never got to see Mt. McKinley because of fog. Even in Denali Park.
|
Lots of people never see Denali - it's like the northern lights: I lived up here for years before actually seeing them! Now I don't stay up late enough to look for them. And I can see Denali from the highway in Anchorage on a clear day. And the Bore tide is another thing that you rarely get to see - I've seen it maybe 3 times in 30 years!
