Hi Randy, welcome from one of many quilters on this board from Colorado. Guys are great quilters. My DH is beginning to take interest. He is beginning to help me cut and he always helps me square up, I wouldn't be surprised to find he would be a great FMQ as he is very artistic. My Dad had three brothers and they grew up on a cattle ranch up high in the mountains where the deep snow made for long winter evenings. My dad and his brother knit the most beautiful sweaters and socks imaginable. The third brothers could out crochet any of the women in the family, and the youngest brother did some of the most beautiful cross stich I have ever seen.. . . and. . . . .I'm pretty fair with a hammer and nail even if I do say so myself.

Yes, you are welcome here. I love batiks also. I have just started the cutting for an ALL BATIK boxed squares. It will be called "Tropical Nights". You have a great eye for color. Cannot wait to see what you will be doing soon.

I think it's great that a guy sews!! I believe that all people need some type of creative outlet, that's part of being human, isn't it? Ever since we painted animals on cave walls, we have been designing and creating. Many men do creative things like writing, woodworking, working on cars, and cooking. I don't think it's odd at all.

Welcome, quite a few members are guys! Love your quilts. cant wait to see what you do next

you are too funny! I own a quilt shop and have met quite a few male quilters in the last 9 years. Like you, they are "In the closet" about their sewing passion. Let the world know. Rosy Grier does embroidery. One of my best customers is a guy. He took grief from his male family for a while until they wanted a quilt of their own.

Yes guys are welcomed. I'm also a guy and I understand about getting the seams to meet but its gets easier as you do more. I've made about five quilts so far. I am currently working on a scrappy quilt with no 2 squares the smae and on a 9 patch quilt when no 2 solid colors are the same.
