Welcome from WI. Know your pain about the loss of your mom, but at least we have fellow quilters who know how we feel.

From one Arkie to another, Welcome. My mother would be so surprised to see me quilting. She sewed by hand and it looked like it came off of a sewing machine! At the time I wasn't interested in sewing, now I wish I could ask her questions.

Welcome from Colorado! I lived in Arkansas for 5 years and loved it. I still go back now and then--what a beautiful state it is.

Veterkins 02-17-2011 02:19 AM

Thank you all so much for the wonderful hello's!! You've certainly made me feel very warmly welcomed. I can't wait to spend more time on here with you. Do you think the IRS would mind if I just quilted this year instead of doing my taxes, LOL? It would be a lot more fun!!

Melinda in Tulsa 02-17-2011 02:30 AM

Welcome from Oklahoma!

Jeanniebelle 02-17-2011 03:29 AM

I doubt it very seriously. The government wants their money if it is owed and doesn't care about the individual needs/wants. I agree with you, quilt is more fun than doing taxes. By the way you never said what part of Arkansas you are from? Jeanniebelle

I am from Northwest Arkansas - more particularly - the Gravette area which is 16 miles north of Walmartville (Bentonville). I was born here and although I've been here for the past 35 years, I've lived in Illinois, Texas, New Mexico, Kansas and Indiana as a child. I love visiting other parts of the country to see how the other half live.

If you are ever in my area, give me a shout and I'll invite you for coffee, tea and a bit of Southern comfort food.

I thought you would like to know that I spent most of my life in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Moved to Arkansas in 1993 after my father passed away. Met and married my husband in Little Rock and now living in Mena. I have never been to your part of Arkansas but would like to see the area. Do you have many quilt shops up there? Jeanniebelle

My hubby is big into fly fishing and fly-tying also. I have a good friend in Russelville that I visit about once a year and another good friend is moving to Fayetteville later this year. I can't wait to have two friends to visit in Arkansas!
