Hi Heather! Welcome from western Nevada, USA!

raptureready 07-04-2010 04:35 AM

Hi and welcome aboard. Almost any pattern/picture of anything can be turned into a candlewicking project. You can put a picture of what you want on a light board or window, place your fabric over it and use a pen with water soluble ink to place your dots. Simple designs will work best. Candlewicking is becoming a lost art, it's good to know that someone is keeping it alive.

Welcome from Ireland. I too do candlewicking. For patterns for Children's quilts I use simple coloring books and change the outline to french knots. For adult quilts I use applique, celtic or any other pattern that I can find.

You must show us some pictures of your candlewicking! I think it is beautiful.

Hi Heather, Welcome from New Hampshire. I did candlewicking years ago, when it was popular here. Maybe it is making a comeback. You may want to try Joanns.com. I think I have seen candlewicking books in their stores here, so they probably have them on their website as well. I hope you can find what you are looking for!

Hi Heather, welcome from Brisbane. I love candlewicking, nothing so nice as white on white or cream on cream. Not that I do it, but I do admire anyone who does.:)
