I've read posts to the Quilting Board on and off for a year and decided that it was time to get on board :)
I've been a quilter for around 40 years and a sewer for even longer. Both of my grandmothers loved to sew, and I feel a link with them while I'm at my machine. I'm so impressed with the work I see here. At some point, I'm sure I'll enjoy joining a swap. And, can you believe it, Fargo is *very* hot this week. Our air-conditioning is running almost as much as the furnace in the winter. We are the Land of Extremes. I have a small hobby business, mainly making pillows, so I'll attach a picture of one. Thanks to whomever started this board. Donna |

Welcome from Illinois. I have an aunt up your way and she has been complaining about the heat, too. I guess it is all over.

DH is from southern Illinois (Martinsville). For many years, we went back at least every other year and I never realized how close it was to Paducah (?), KY. We definitely would have timed it with their quilt festival.
We don't go back in the summer unless it's for something special. The time we went in August and my glasses steamed over when I got out of the car was kind of a decider for that. But it's happening here this week--I just wilt . |

It's a small world, isn't it? I belong to the quilt guild some years, but haven't been active. They meet on Saturdays, and I don't like to leave DH sitting home alone.
I usually try to make it to the quilt show, and would love to hook up. I think it's a really great show. So glad the heat has finally broke--I actually gardened for a little over an hour this morning. Felt great to be out. Donna |
