My name is Debbie. I am probably intermediate in my quilting still learning to machine quilt. My kids and grand kids tell me they like their quilts tied because the quilt is softer and feels cozier. I like scrappy quilting I think the most.My great grand mother was a quilter and re purposed everything. I was recently given a quilt top she has done, a wedding ring quilt. Mostly hand sewn.I need to finish it. I am a solitary quilter I guess and learned to quilt on my own. I look forward to meeting all of you and sharing & observing.

Welcome to the quilting board. I also live in Idaho. My grandmother was the quilter in our family and as far as I know, I am the only quilter beside her. She is long gone now but I can remember her working on quilts. She did not have a sewing machine, so did everything by hand. She really had nimble fingers and can remember her giving me and my mom the hexagon cardboard pattern for us to help cut out Grandmothers flower garden. She also repaired and recycled quilts. Loved seeing an old blouse or dress I worn out in her quilts.

Welcome from hot and humid Lowell, MA. I grew up in SD where it's not, but I think New England is just as hot and humid as SD. But that's my own personal opinion.
