I worked for many years as well as brought up my two children in a happy relationship. Was too busy to do much more than look after house, do chores and make my children's clothing. Then when the children left home I carried on working for a while and found quilting. I eventually retired and also found machine embroidery which I love as well and compliments quilting. The bones ache a bit more now though. the eyes have dimmed a little but carrying on.
To me quilting is a therapy! LOL. |

Hello from New Jersey. Your story sounds much like mine, kids all grown and out on their own, began quilting after I retired and and although time has slowed me down a lot I'm hanging in there sewing and making as many quilts as I can. May in Jersey

Please thank you all for such a lovely welcome! My quilt in the picture depicts a Mystery Quilt I took part in during 2009 which was fun to do! I think it was my first mystery quilt so I chose a cot size. Needless to say it is a picture of a top and I haven't sandwiched or quilted it yet but I will get around to it. In fact, I need some advice on the best way to quilt this baby. It has a lot of open space so maybe I can do feathers?
In-the-meantime I will find a place to deposit my photos. I love seeing all quilts and also your pets in your pictures. They all look adorable. I don't have a dog anymore and would dearly love another but my husband says not as we like to holiday and don't like the idea of farming a dog out. Maureen in Jersey, UK :) |
