Central valley of CA area. Haven't quilted much these last two years. Currently spending time with Mom, who has been battling cancer. I have kept up with reading this newsletter and enjoy seeing everyone's work. This morning pulled out some applique I had put away a few months ago and realized I need to get back to creating...being busy in a project.

Welcome to you. Work on a project helps with sidelining other concerns and the best of wishes for you. I am almost your neighbor in Pleasant Hill CA and remember with love going often through Merced on the road to Yosemite. I've been quilting for about 25 years as well as writing memoirs of life in CA for I am now 85 and still going strong. Quilting is fun for you are playing with colors. Betsy

Hello It is nice to hear from someone who is so close. I grew up and went to school in Merced. I also lost my mom to cancer in Oct of 2008. My heart goes out to you. It is a long battle that I hope she wins. Quilting will help to relieve the stress that you are going through with this nasty battle.
You can PM me anytime if you need to talk or feel the need to just relieve some tension. I have been there and will be more than happy to give you a shoulder to lean on if you need it. Enjoy the time with her and relax Gayle |
