Hi, I have been quilting for about ten years, but slowly. That means I start many projects and have a lot of UFO's.
My hope this year is to get more time to sew and finish some of my UFO's.
My mother has been living with us since Oct. She is 90 and has dementia so some times sewing has to take a back seat.
I am very lucky because my mother is happy and most of the time she has a great sense of humor.
I made her a butterfly and flower lap quilt, her favorites,
and she doesn't want to use it because she wants to keep it nice.
Once in awhile she claims that she made the quilt. She did sew beautifully but not quilts. So I tell her she did a great job.
I have three daughters five grandchildren and one and ahalf great grandchildren. More later Marilu

Welcome from central AL. DH and I just got back from a week on Mackinac Island, what a great place! Wish I could move north.

My MIL lived with us for almost 10 years before she passed away last July. I completely understand quilting having to take a back seat, but I found it to be a great exercise in relaxation.

Hi Marilu-Mi, bless you for taking care of your mom. I did the same and never will regret it. BUT, being a caregiver can stress so if you can get someone to 'spell' you to have some Marilu time, do it. Rejuvenate!

My dad had dementia and I called him my docile child. Mom's dementia was totally 180. I couldn't name her anything but my mommie. I miss them so much.

Blessings,
Ruth
