I'm brand new to this forum. I live in the Sandhills of NC, south of Raliegh. I've been a quilter for 20 + years. I am currently a "lone" quilter. I tryed the local quild, and decided not to go back. They bicker like teenagers. I am very interested in some one to talk to about quilts, learning more about making, caring for and decorating with quilts.
I'm currently trying to reduce my stash. I'm making rail fence quilts to give at Christmas. my latest quilt |
Hello and welcome from Ontario.

Hello & Welcome from Washington State. I love your quilt. I LOVE HORSES!
|
Welcome from Alaska! That's a really pretty quilt using that fabric. I know what you mean about some guilds--some are very cliquey. We are all in this to enhance our quilting skills and to share. I love to see what others are doing and also where people are from etc. I love to sew with groups but I also like to spend time alone sewing and quilting. This forum is packed full of info.
|
Helloooooo there! That's the exact reason I don't venture into a guild...I'm kinda sensitive to that very situation. Bickering, gossiping, all that stuff. Welcome to paradise!

welcome, I love your horse quilt

Good afternoon, I live north af Raleigh, a recent transplant from Ohio. If you are ever wanting to visit the shops up this direction I'd love to show you around.
|
I live an hour from Raleigh. I usually got to Plain and Simple if I can. World of Bernina services my machine. They make appts for out of town customers, and service my machine while I shop. It's due in several months. Lunch maybe??

I am sure you will love this group. I joined only about 2 weeks ago but feel at home already. I am sure you will enjoy it immensley. There is SO MUCH info and beautiful pictures on here. I doubt I will ever catch up. Welcome from southeastern Idaho. p.s. The QG here is really great but I did try one in another state that was that clicky kind.

KISS BOTH OF YOUR KIDS FOR ME AND TELL THEM HOW PROUD I AM OF THEM - THEY ARE MONUMENTS TO OUR NATION - HOW LUCKY WE ARE TO HAVE THEM ON OUR TEAM.
|
You came to the right place! Welcome, from VA.
|
Somewhere I have a pattern to make butterflys out of hankies. I have also seen a pattern to use hankies for the skirts on spanish ladies. I saw it at AQS in Paduach several years ago. The vender had sold out.
I also have a book about making the hankies into quilts to frame. Will have to dig that one out. Can't remember the name right off the bat. btw, I'm in Cameron. Ever heard of it? |

Love your Quilt! Welcome from Michigan.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome. I call the horse quilt "Run Wild, Run Free". It is based on a pattern from Connecting Threads. I have misplace the pattern, so I can't tell you the original name. I bought it off the sale page, so it is no longer available.
Run Wild was made for a veternarian who treated an injured stray puppy for free. He had a broken leg and some nasty gashes from being mauled by a bigger dog. I'm happy to say the puppy is healthy and happy in his new home. We were able to find him a new home in another state. |
