Hello from NY :)
Hi All,
I am new to this board. I am a mom of 2 from Upstate NY. I would say I am an intermediate quilter. I am hoping to learn learn tips and tricks as well as get some ideas. My parents celebrate 50 years together in 2.5 years, I'd like to make a special quilt for them. ...haven't decided yet if it will be bed, lap or wall size :) Jeannine |

Welcome from Rotterdam, NY.
I am celebrating my 40th anniversary this year and have picked up a couple of wedding gowns from Craigslist or Freecycle and plan on making an Anniversary Quilt. I am not quite ready to quilt it though. I need more experience. A friend of mine made a quilt out of a wedding gown and in the center she used the bodice lace to make a heart. It came out beautiful! Just a thought. Good luck on your project. I eloped so never had nor wanted a wedding dress, however an anniversary quilt is a different story! |

Wow! thanks everyone! I am in Saratoga County, so I am almost halfway between NYC and Canada :). I find it funny how relative the term "upstate" is here. I have friends in the North Country who consider anything south of Warrensburg to be downstate and I have friends in Westchester who consider anything north of NYC to be Upstate :)
Thanks for making me feel so welcome! |
