A warm welcome from California. You will love this site and learn a lot. As an added bonus, everyone is very nice and will to share tips and ideas. As our teachers always told us no question is silly except the ones you don't ask.

Welcome to the board, and to Orlando! I just love it here. (Both the board and Orlando). I hope you like quilting as much as I do. It's very addictive.
Check out the "Modern Quilt Guild" of Orlando. Its a wonderful group of people, and offers some "face to face" quilting time. Again, Welcome.
