Hello everyone,
My name is Anne. I came upon this site by accident whilst looking for a past quilting magazine through the internet. I am happily married to Brian and have 3 children, Matthew, Laura and Katie. I belong to a wonderful quilting group called Quilting Companions and have been with this group for 10 years. When we meet on Thursdays, it is the best day of the week. I am sure you can relate. Can't wait to look around the site and learn more from others. I will request help with this past magazine in my next post. I am attaching one of the quilts I have made so that you can see some of my work. Thank you. I made this quilt for Katie, my daughter. I called it Oriental Circles. It represents the different turns you make in your life. The fabric is oriental fabrics, as she studied Japanese and has been to Japan. |

Hi SewSydney,
Thanks for your response. It is devastating to see what is happening around our country. My brother lives in Queensland but luckily when the cyclone hit his town it was only Category 2, so only tree and leaf debris etc. Queensland has had its fair share as has Melbourne. The fire we had over the weekend here in Roleystone and Armadale was shocking. More than 60 homes lost. That fire was not too far away from here and I could see the black smoke and thought the worst. Luckily no lives lost. The weather here is still hot. I am ready for a break. With the heat we have had very strong hot winds from a low depression hitting the south west of the state. Bring on winter. We really need the rain. Our rainfall is so low. We hardly had any rain last year. I am looking forward to learning and sharing with this group. |
