Possibly your best bet would to make this a Topic on the Board for yourself. But as a Scot, I can tell you in Scotland we have the Woollen Mills with Aran knitted items. Whisky of course and tartan. Also we have wonderful Edinburgh Crystal, might be difficult to transport but I know they do it. Edinburgh might be a good place to start.
Hope that helps

Hi Jacquie! Scotland is such a beautiful place. I have a pen pal in England who used to work in Scotland and took me there to Dollar, Scotland several years back because my last name is Dollar and wel jokingly said that we were going there to buy my castle which was for sale! Too funny! I fell in love with the area and would live there in a heartbeat if I could.

I am fairly new to quilting but I love to dabble and try new things. Great to have you in the group. You will really see a lot of beautiful quilts on this board and lots of talented quilters! Welcome!

Welcome from Pa. and Va.
I was looking for quilt shops on Sauchehall St. in Glasgow but didn't find any. We did find the kilt rental. Loved Glasgow and The 100 miles or so that we saw. My SIL is from Glasgow.
We went to celebrate their 25th anniversary. They (SIL and MY DD) rented "Graigrownie Castle" in Cove.(0n the hill above Loch Lommond) It was June two years ago and we had two weeks of 70degree weather and only one minute of rain at Oban. They rented a small bus with a driver named Les. He was very kind and funny.
They took the ferry into Helensburgh to buy some supplies and fresh flowers. We also went to INVERARAY and MENSES castles. As a Campbell - INVERARAY was a must. My youngest son signed the guest book as "Glad to see that you are taking good care of the house for the last 200 years".
(just checked the rental site and the owners have switched some furniture and put it for sale

I loved everything about Scotland. I would love a quilting tour of U.K.
I check the sites but haven't found a tour as yet.

Glad that you found this friendly site.

Welcome - I LOVE Scotland. Had many a good holiday there.
I have only been on this site a few days, and I cannot believe what I have found. I don't really do much quilting or patchwork, but have used ideas from the forums and tutorials to create useful items to sell at Church bazaar.

Hello from Alabama! It's one of the "southern states" in case you don't know. I've always wanted to visit Scotland. I have "roots" there and in Wales. I am more of a fabric collector, but I do make a few quilts. Anyway, welcome!

Hi, Jacquie ..... Glad to see someone from Scotland! Some of my ancestors came from Aberdeen in the late 1850's. I traveled back about six years ago and loved it. Stayed in Aviemore, up in the Highlands. Hope to return again before I die.

A lot of Scottish people settled in Ogden, Utah, a small city about fifteen miles from here, and there's a huge mountain to the north they named Ben Lomond. And my three girls graduated from Ben Lomond High.

You're in for a wild ride with this crowd. We have so much fun, and it's a wonderful place to pick up inspiration and new ideas. ...... Enjoy!

Hi Jacquie, I also Lived in Dunoon ( well just outside in Argyle) in the 70s. It sounds like you are having a great time with this quilting. It can only get better as a member of this board. There is always something going on and the ladies and gentlemen on here are the best around.
