Hello from southern Virginia

Hi, it's very nice to be here. I taught myself how to quilt a year or so ago by looking at youtube videos and instructions from quilters on the internet. I find that I like making the patchwork quilts the best, I guess because that's the kind of quilts I remember from my childhood. I hate cutting triangles for some reason so most of my quilting is by piecing squares or rectangles but I think I might be ready to try more difficult projects soon. I've been looking into the GO! cutting systems but I saw an old thread where some of you said don't do it The people who know best are the ones who actually quilt, so I'll trust your judgment on that. I have cut around 4500 2" squares and my next project will be a queen-size postage stamp quilt. Have any of you made one and was it pretty?

I'm looking forward to digging into posts and learning some new things.

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. Postage Stamp quilt can be beautiful but a lot of work if you are not strip piecing. If you like tradional quilt patterns, go to Bonnie Hunter's site at www.quiltville.blogspot.ca and click on the Free Pattern tab at the top of the site.

Welcome from Oklahoma. Yes I made a postage stamp quilt once. It was a small one though.
