Welcome Gem ! I am from Southern Virginia USA and I love this board! There are so many tutorials, experienced quilters and a wonderful Search section. The search section will go to just about any questions you have and lots of input. You will love it here

Hi Gwen,
How are you? getting any ideas? I am also fairly new to quilting. There are so many ideas to use. I love it here.
I lived in Whales for about 6 months about 30 years ago! Are you close to Cardiff? That is the only city name I can remember right now!

Cyfarch o Michigan.

My dad was from Cardiff and my mom from Rhos. I am first generation here in the US. I do not speak Welsh although I have taken the language lessons. The absolute worst language to learn. My friend, Ann Hill, is from Swansea and speaks often of her dear friend Dylan Thomas. She is in her latter years now but has fond memories. My cousin still lives in Whitchurch, Cardiff. My sisters and I often speak of taking a pilgrimage to our homeland. I have been once and was so mesmerized by the beautiful countryside. I know I will return someday and hope we can meet.

You will make good friends here on the quilting board and learn a lot. Glad you have joined.

Hello everyone

Yes Swansea is about an hour away from Cardiff :) So not far at all. Many of my family still live in the Cardiff area.
And Cardiff is better for shopping than Swansea lol

I cant speak much welsh myself :)
