Hello,
Hi Everyone. I just joined. Have been quilting for many years but I am just getting back into it after a couple of years layoff.
I want to make a wall hanging for January that represents the month. Like valentines for February, patriotic for July, etc. I would love to have some ideas from everyone as I have drawn a total blank for January. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas. Cleo00 |
Merry Christmas and welcome to the group. I am from Co. Jo

Welcome. How about snowmen for January?
|
Merry Christmas!! I am also new to the board. When I think of January, what comes to mind is fireworks, champagne, new years babies, and confetti. Good luck coming up with an idea. Happy New Year

Hi - Welcome from Alabama - Heart of Dixie!
When I think of January, I think of bare trees, gray skies, early sunsets, Cardinals. Good luck on your project! |
Welcome. When I think of January it's mostly of snow.

Welcome from Ontario, Canada!
I did Jan.-snowman, Feb.-heart, Mar.-shamrock, April-umbrella, May-flowers, June-men's tie, July-flag, Aug-sunflower, Sept.-schoolhouse, Oct.-pumpkin, Nov-poppy, Dec.-tree. Good luck! |
Welcome to the board. I agree with a winter/beginning of the year theme for January, maybe a snowman dressed as a new year's baby chasing one dressed as father time! LOL
|
Welcome! Well being from central ny, I have to say a snow scene - snowmen playing.

Hi Cleo, welcome and Happy Holidays from NE Ohio.

I am currently doing monthly wall hangings and am using Kim Schaefer's Calendar Quilts. The January quilt is a snowman. They're all really cute, and fun to make. I've put a link below to a site that has it for sale so you can check it out.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too

Merry Christmas!!! I would think anything wintery would be appropriate for January... like a snow on the trees scene with a cardninal or dear or something...
Oh, almost forgot! welcome to the qiltingboard! |

Welcome to the Quilting Board from Nevada! This is a great place to make a lot of friends and learn a lot -- and share a lot of what you already know. It's the best!
My image of January is The Big Ball dropping in Times Square in New York City with lots of confetti and streamers all around it. It's like a New Beginning every year, with people counting out: 10 --- 9 --- 8 --- and so on, followed by all the screaming! I suppose you could put all the numbers around it too, and sparklers and other fireworks going off. You could really dress it up! Just an idea. . . Merry Christmas and Welcome Aboard! |
Welcome aboard from northern California. There are a lot of good people here. Enjoy.

If you are not wanting such a definite cliche as snow and snowmen why not go with some of the famous people who have been born in January or the famous events that have happened in January?
