Hello

My grandmother made 18 quilt tops and 8 more to put together. My daughter and I have decided to put these heirlooms together and give them to other family members. Neither one of us has much experience with quilting, but we both wish to learn.

Welcome to the Quilting Board from Louisiana. I have found that my local quilt shop is a great place to start. Also, You Tube has lots of quilting help. I use Google and head off to quilt-land. :)

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. Try youtube for a visual on how to assemble blocks into a quilt top. Blocks can be sewn to each other or strips of fabric (sashing) can be sewn between them. If you have a local quilt shop, they may have a basic quilt class you can take.

Hi from frozen North Dakota. Glad you are on board. You actually have wonderful things to gift to your family members that your Grandmother made. Some of us wish we had that. You will find lots of help on this board. Depending on whether you want to quilt the top or tie the top we can all help. It is a learning experience for life.

Welcome from Victoria Australia.

What a lovely journey you and your daughter are sharing.

Lots of help here. Perhaps a photo or two and a question would be the best place to start you off.
