Welcome from Missouri! I like the bent saety pins for basting, when I use pins. A teaspoon helps to close the pins. I spray base more now! :lol:

You might want to think about using a basting gun or safety pins specially made for quilting, saves catching your fingers. However, I would say the biger the better on the pins sizes
