Hello from the UK
Hi everybody!
I'm Christina, 31 from the UK - near London. I've been sewing for quite a while, had a course at school when I was 12, wasn't really any good, tried some costumes later, even worse and started again 4 years ago. So far I've mainly made clothes, bags and purses. This week I've made a quilted blanket for my friend's baby that is due in September. Didn't look too great so not sure if she will ever receive it but we'll see. I've watched quite a lot of patchwork and quilting videos on YouTube these last few days and thought this was a great idea to get rid of all my scraps. Too tiny for clothes or bags, but too big to throw away. But perfect for patchworking! I'm going to browse through the board for inspirations and help and hope to be able to show off a great quilt top soon. Lots of love Christina :) |
Welcome from western NY and happy quilting :)

Am I the only one from this side of the earth? :D
I mean, I know quilting is more famous over there but I kinda feel lonely he he Thank you for the nice welcome ;) |
Hello and welcome. I live in Hereford, there are quite a few Brits on the board, but not all are frequent posters. i am a self taught 'sewer', mostly from books, you tube etc, and I have made quite a few quilts now. Thoroughly enjoyable habit, I love checking out charity shops for fabric and I like to re-use as much as possible.
I hope you enjoy looking at all the lovely works that members show on here, and you are bound to pick up all sorts of tips. |
