I live in the UP of Michigan. I have to travel some distance to get to quilt shops. I am very lucky that my DH is a pilot and we decide where to fly by what quilt shops are near an airport. I have been to many shops I wouldn't have gotten to by driving. Try to quilt a couple hours a day ;) . I am so glad I found this site. Have learned a lot already :!:

What a pleasant surprise. I'm also from the UP of Michigan, specifly Manistique, although we no longer live there. We lived there for 29 years and raised 3 children. We haven't lived there in about 8years. Welcome! I was so excited to see someone from Manistique!

Welcome to the board - I'm also from Michigan...way at the bottom of the state. Spend lots of time in the U.P...mostly around S.S.Marie, and Brimley. Went to NMU many moons ago.

welcome Sophie...my DH is a "retired" pilot meaning he no longer flies...I am in NE Michigan right below ya...never thought of flying to quilt shops...our LQS in a ways from the airport but I could always pick ya up LOL Linda

Being from Michigan I know you are seeing beautiful sites flying to quilt shops!! Wow that is a fun way to go! Cheboygan, MI has a nice quilt shop and an airstrip out by Mullett Lake!! 10 miles from town though!
