I think I am finally ready to introduce myself. I am Elaine and I live on a farm in VA. I learned to quilt when I was very young. I don't see very well anymore so I have slowed down but I love to talk about it. It seems that the nicest people are on this board. Everyone is so helpful and ready to do anything for anyone. I think that I would like to stay around for a while if I may.

Please do stay a long while!
Hi from Bedford, VA, where I also live on a farm!
My house is a rental cottage that was the summer kitchen for an 1811 plantation house. It's been added onto, of course, and I do love it so much, though it's plenty cold in the winter. This old brick, made on the property, was so porous, it just sucks up the cold and damp. I had to invest in a good dehumidifier to protect my textiles. We also have the original well house (now used for storage) and a rock-wall surrouned family cemetery, though it is long since overgrown.

You are welcome to come by any time if you're close by.

I imagine it does get cold. We have some very harsh winters here in Bedford. I have lived in Goode all of my life. Hope to talk to you again.

Welcome to the board.

My Mama grew up on a farm in Southwest VA. I've spent many, many summers there visiting my Mamaw and all the rest of the extended family. It is a beautiful place. So very different from the flat corn fields I'm used to seeing.

I can do both. But I can't see well enough to either any more. This is the friendlist group of people that I have ever been with. I feel very welcome!

Not a member of any guild. I am very shy and don't blend in very well.
