hello and welcome from Maryland... Making sure your blocks are 9" square or 9 1/2" if they are to be finished at 9". And also to make sure the seam is 1/4", there is a 1/4" foot that makes it a breeze.

AND sometimes we stretch our block by pressing to hard !!! We should not iron in a harsh back and forth I've been told but a press and lift motion instead, thereby not stretching the fabric and causing more problems with the corners etc !!!! Learned this the hard way , yup !!! Also , did not square up my squares and boy on a roman square that is bad bad bad !!! Glad it was supposed to be a wall hanging !!!! LOL keep going , yes , lot's to learn but oh so rewarding !!! Lot's of info here and it never hurts to take a class here or there !!! Have fun ! Enjoy

I try to line up my seams on both sides when I am putting the blocks together. The more you do, the easier it get! Good luck! |
